Walter E. Dellinger, a famous constitutional scholar who argued various conditions prior to the Supreme Court docket, served in leading positions in the Justice Division and was a professor at Duke Law University, died Wednesday. He was 80.

Dellinger died Wednesday early morning in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, his son Hampton Dellinger said.
