Authorities outline recommendations to protect against abuse and neglect of more mature Mainers
Governor Janet Mills these days produced the Elder Justice Roadmap, the state’s initial report targeted on combatting elder abuse compiled by public and private sector industry experts on the Governor’s Elder Justice Coordinating Partnership.
Founded by Governor Mills in 2019 with the assist of the John T. Gorman Foundation and the Muskie Faculty of Community Provider, the 21-member Elder Justice Coordinating Partnership has identified troubles to the prevention of, detection of, and reaction to elder abuse in the State of Maine and has designed strategic priorities across the general public and non-public sectors to stop and respond to elder abuse. These recommendations, contained in the Elder Justice Roadmap, array from improvements in immediate victim products and services, community and qualified training, public policy and knowledge selection and analysis.
