The flyer then lists “an army” of 11 legal protection lawyers, which include Marion County Affiliation of Defenders Executive Director Olcott Thompson.
The flyer also mentions a handful of of Todd’s latest campaign contributions, which includes a $50,000 donation from Aaron Boonshoft, a Portland trader. Boonshoft, as previously claimed by Willamette 7 days, donated additional than $1 million to the Urban Justice Center’s Intercourse Employees Task, a New York-based mostly authorized nonprofit that “defends the human rights of intercourse workers.”

In response, Salem-location lawyers, which include quite a few of those known as out by Clarkson’s campaign, wrote to Clarkson declaring she caused “specific hurt” by implying Todd’s affiliation with them is deplorable.

The letter calls for a correction and retraction, and a general public apology for the “misinterpretation.”

The letter states at minimum 1 of the lawyers stated in the mailer has in no way worked a scenario with Clarkson and two of them have household customers who are Clarkson’s personnel.
Other lawyers have separately reached out to Clarkson to criticize the mailer, or have dealt with it on social media.
In an email to Clarkson on Friday, Thompson called the flyer “appalling,” and stated the slamming of the criminal defense bar contradicts Clarkson’s earlier statements about her regard for defense attorneys.
